Job Summary
We are seeking a Pediatric Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team! As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting the initial assessment of a patient, including listening to their complaints or concerns, obtaining a relevant medical history, and measuring intraocular pressures, refraction, visual acuities, and more. You will also assist as needed with procedures done by the doctor in-office, help educate patients on eye health and best practices, and maintain an organized, clean work environment at all times. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and is extremely organized. We are looking for someone who has a passion for helping children of all ages, as well as adults with special needs.

- Monday thru Friday
- Shifts rotate between 7:30-3:30, 8-4, and 12-7
- Overtime available as our ending time relies more on the doctor finishing all exams rather than a pre-determined exact time
- Primary office of work is located Cranberry Township, PA 16066 with infrequent travel to Murrysville, PA 15668
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and gather medical history and relevant information for their visit
- Conduct an initial assessment of the patient and record all findings
- Assist in in-office procedures, as needed
- Educate patients on best practice and eye health
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times
- Maintain consumable supplies and re-order as needed
Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience desired
- Previous Ophthalmology experience a plus
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite
Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Our offices are staffed with more than 20 assistants who have received special training to provide you with the best possible ophthalmologic care. In the Operating Room, we are assisted by experienced O.R. personnel that have worked with each of us for many years.
